Brohm threw alot of slants, but let's be real. He was getting crushed if he dropped back more than three steps. He was also running for his life quite a bit. He definitely has a roster spot after tonight.
I thought Lumpkin and Sutton helped themselves. Underwood is a player, he shouldn't hang his head tonight. His school let out late, and he wasn't allowed to report for OTAs. He's just kind of trying to catch up with everyone else. He will improve. We got some talented young CBs.
Pat Lee has a ton of upside too. We can even IR him now if we want. I do think he needs another year to really come into his own.

Will Bishop put Hawk to shame?

"beast" wrote:

Nope... Bishop showed why he's the #4 ILB and not starting....

Hawk just plain doesn't make mistakes. He also did the dirty work to open up Chillar a lot early on.

When you talk about bishop do you base this on the fact he had the most solo tackles of the game 7 or because he had 2 interceptions the first 2 preseason games?
and to top it off he had the most tackles out of anyone on the team this preseason at 26

Bishop has my nod for best ILB this preseason. But ya it sounds like they will mainly be using him for passing downs (to cause pressure).

I was going to note that sadly so far I am not that excited about our ROLB - maybin and orakpo are tearing it up on their teams and I am jealous.

I think ol' Ted will decide to go with 4 backs on the roster - Tyrell Sutton could be a better foil for Downhill Grant than Jackson so I think he get's a spot,.

Jackson on IR? Lee on IR? So many times on this board lately, people have suggested that we put players on IR for minor injuries. I don't recall IR being used that way except for players who are very raw and have almost no chance of contributing. You don't do that with your #2 RB, and I don't see it happening with Lee either, as he is a talented second-year player who could contribute. Both of these players would have to have pretty serious injuries to be put on IR, in my opinion.

I guess better to put them on IR than keep em and lose quality players to your rivals. It's just another way to fit in all the players you want to keep for another year.

But yes, I dont see them IRing Jackson and probably not Lee either at this point.

Underwood would be the sort of guy I'd like to IR. He's behind due to his school but has plenty of upside and might be claimed. He got banged up last night so would be easy enough to IR.

We also have to consider who Ted Thompson has his eye on from other teams. We are not the only team going to cut quality players and we have a decent position on the waiver wire.

judging by the stats i'd say bishop played well. but obviously that doesn't mean anything. I didn't catch much of the game so i assume i missed a few mistakes he made? enlighten me on what i missed please.

haven't heard anything about matthews. what was all your impressions of clay?

of course Bishop looked better when surrounded by better players. i'm not so sure he should be out of the picture yet.

I agree with Twinkiegorilla.

Clay tends to be sticky and moldable. When fired in a kiln, it becomes hard but brittle. When coated in glaze, it develops a high sheen.

Wait, what? Oh, you mean Clay? Sowwie.

I wouldn't put Underwood on IR unless he had a serious injury. If his injury is fairly minor, he belongs on the practice squad, where he can continue to practice and learn. Putting a player on the shelf for a year is not something to take lightly.

Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : It's like listen, you made 4,201 mocks, no shit.
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : Cuz during the draft "I had them mocked there!" as if it's amazing.

dfosterf (27-Mar) : Answer to your question is yes, it's a Thursday, will be the Chiefs aga

Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Shouldn't be penalized cuz official screwed up
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Yeah, challenge until you are incorrect twice.
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Fining them is the goal, per the people who made the rule anyway.
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still waiting on the kickoff rule changes. Did hear yesterday that the touchback proposal will now be the 30 yard line, not the 35
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Probably speed of game issues with your proposal
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Hopefully the refs don't get in the habit of throwing flags on this
beast (25-Mar) : I think when it comes to Challenges should get two strikes, so unlimited challenges as long as they keep winning them, but 2 wrong then done
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still subject to the fines etc
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Yes, I should have been more specific. Also, they are now saying it would be a 15 yard penalty. That makes more sense .
