I think Wells is the only one who could have any real trade value. He is a proven NFL starter, and the Packers may not need him. Hawk's contract is too big for a trade. They could possibly get something for Bishop. Poppinga, Moll, Rouse, and Brohm would not be worth anything significant in a trade.

I'm not above trading Barnett. He hasn't impressed me in more than a year, is hurt, and has shown NOTHING(hasn't had the chance) to prove he can handle the 3-4 LB job.

I agree with that...problem was that Barnett and Harris were getting older. And i dont see why they would trade away Bishop when he coming onto a good season by the looks of it. This season could be a very good season especially in the first few games with Cutler shaky at the Bears and Farve in Vike country...and well dont need to say about the lions. I think it would be silly to trade away players when its a new schema to build next year. If the 3-4 blows up in GBs faces then they be high up the draft order anyway!

I think we could trade one of our RBs to a RB hungry team like the Seahawks. We are gonna have to get rid of someone and I'd rather get something for them, even if its just a 6th rounder.

This is actually the first bit of positive news I have heard about Hawk since very early in camp.. good to hear.

Dropped it into this tread since it is related to the value that each of these backers add to the Packers or to their trade value.

Related....

Dom Capers had to be smiling during Thursdays night practice when he saw two of his linebackers make outstanding pass breakups while dropping into coverage.

During a team period in which the No. 1 defense worked against the scout-team offense, outside backer Brady Poppinga and inside backer A.J. Hawk defended passes on consecutive plays.

Poppingas came against rookie receiver JaRon Harris, who ran out an out route from the left slot. Poppinga, playing the right outside spot because Clay Matthews and Jeremy Thompson remain out due to injuries, dropped into coverage and quickly broke toward Harris. Backup quarterback Matt Flynn threw the ball perfectly to Harris outside shoulder, but Poppinga closed in a hurry and knocked the ball away.

On the very next play, Hawk trailed tight end Devin Frischknecht on a deep route down the seam. Third-string quarterback Brian Brohm floated the ball and Hawk, with his back to the ball, threw up his hand at the last second and knocked it down.

Covering receivers and tight ends was one of the biggest question marks about this linebacking corps in the switch to the 3-4 defense under Capers but for one night at least, it wasnt a problem.

This does tell a story about the depth that will be on that final 53 man roster.

In the end I think our depth will be the difference. So many forecasters look at the starting twenty two guys but looking at the Bears and Vikes I don't see the players behind those guys. By week 8 or ten there will be other faces in all the lineups and I like our survival rate in those terms.

Last year I agreed about Wynn but this year it seems like he sees the light a little bit more and is working towards being a better player. I like Bishop too but as was said earlier, he`s doing it against 2`s. I guess that`s what preseason is for, to sort them out. Not sure who I`d trade at this point but there are definitely some players that should be in demand instead of competely cutting them. Depth is good.

dfosterf (21h) : The only problem with that is he isn't a guard either.
dfosterf (22h) : Put him at right guard. That is where he will be coached. That is where he will compete. He is not even allowed to look at the LT playbook.
dfosterf (18-Apr) : Kidding aside, I hope the best for him.
dfosterf (18-Apr) : Went to a Titans board. One comment there. Not very long. I quote: "LOL" They don't sound overly upset about our aquisition.

dfosterf (18-Apr) : Suit him up and have him stand in front of the big board as a draft day cautionary tale.
Zero2Cool (18-Apr) : Packers sign T Andre Dillard.
Mucky Tundra (18-Apr) : Adds most of the information this time of year comes from agents.

dfosterf (8-Apr) : Question of the week for me: Has anyone besides me done any deep dive into the potential of Alex McGough, our 3rd string qb?

Zero2Cool (7-Apr) : Go Badgers!!!
Martha Careful (6-Apr) : Go Boilermakers!!!
Martha Careful (5-Apr) : Diggs has not stepped up in the playoffs and has a high cost
beast (5-Apr) : Probably not going to let Diggs walk away unless he's horrible... but according to reports he also might not be as good as he used to be.
beast (5-Apr) : The 25th pick in the draft has been an offensive player since 2017, 2 TE, 2 WR, 1 RB, 1 OC
Mucky Tundra (5-Apr) : Odd, why give up a 2025 2nd Rounder for him if you're just gonna let him walk?
Zero2Cool (4-Apr) : Texans to let Diggs be free agent in '25
buckeyepackfan (4-Apr) : 49r's aign RB Patrick Taylor.
Martha Careful (4-Apr) : Reversion to the mean would indicate we will keep it
Zero2Cool (4-Apr) : It's also been utilized in a trade in 14 of the past 20 years
Zero2Cool (4-Apr) : The 25th pick in the draft hasn't been made by it's original holder since 2016.
Mucky Tundra (4-Apr) : Gotta imagine that Green Bay vs Houston will be a primetime game this upcoming season
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : No. Kill QB. No worries. 😁
Mucky Tundra (3-Apr) : Diggs, Collins, Dell and Schultz is gonna be tough to cover
