It doesn't matter if we play 3-4, 4-3, 6-1, 5-2.

It's all in the coaching.

People talk about Arod not being able to lead us back late in games. The opposing teams did to him what we could not do to them. Get to the QB. They KNEW in all those games Arod would have to whing it if we were going to win and they brought the dogs on Arod.

I watched game after game that we lost where the opposing QB was left back there to do what he pleased with three minutes left and, yeah, given all day guys like Bishop or our safeties are going to get beat there.

Goes to show any QB can look like a hero if you give him enough time.

These statements are so true. I watched game after game of Aaron Rodgers having a full second less than the opposing QB. You can't do that and expect to get very far against top tier teams.

And yes, ANY QB will look good with enough seconds. It seemed to me we were giving 5-6 seconds or so. That's too much time.

IF we play the 3-4 like we played the 4-3 LAST year, we are indeed in troouble.

Both defenses can be run where the only basic difference is what the players are called. Since we have Matthews, look at the defense Pete Carroll runs. 4-3 under. It is a 4-3 with the defensive line shifted so one DT is linded up over center and called a NT.

Check this out.

Yeah one exception with Carolina where Delhomme can just loft the ball down the field and Smith will 9 times out of 10 come down with it.

More like 1 out of 10, I would say. Delhomme threw up a prayer, it blew around in the wind, Woodson lost track of it, and Smith made a heck of a play. It was a drag, but sometimes those things happen.

As for 3-4 vs. 4-3, they will have different personnel in each defense, but if the 3-4 is not as effective as the 4-3, they will change the personnel rather than going to the 4-3 all the time. Maybe they will use a little more 4-3, but 3-4 is Capers' basic scheme, and I don't think he'll go away from it too much.

The 34 only makes our defense more expansive and it plays to our strength because our players are football players, not just specialists.

The more expansive it is, the more confusing it is for opposing offenses.

This is what the Patriots do, and I won't mind being the NFC version of the Patriots with #12 as our QB.

dfosterf (13h) : Put him at right guard. That is where he will be coached. That is where he will compete. He is not even allowed to look at the LT playbook.
dfosterf (18-Apr) : Kidding aside, I hope the best for him.
dfosterf (18-Apr) : Went to a Titans board. One comment there. Not very long. I quote: "LOL" They don't sound overly upset about our aquisition.

dfosterf (18-Apr) : Suit him up and have him stand in front of the big board as a draft day cautionary tale.

Martha Careful (5-Apr) : Diggs has not stepped up in the playoffs and has a high cost
beast (5-Apr) : Probably not going to let Diggs walk away unless he's horrible... but according to reports he also might not be as good as he used to be.
beast (5-Apr) : The 25th pick in the draft has been an offensive player since 2017, 2 TE, 2 WR, 1 RB, 1 OC
Mucky Tundra (5-Apr) : Odd, why give up a 2025 2nd Rounder for him if you're just gonna let him walk?
Zero2Cool (4-Apr) : Texans to let Diggs be free agent in '25
buckeyepackfan (4-Apr) : 49r's aign RB Patrick Taylor.

Mucky Tundra (4-Apr) : Gotta imagine that Green Bay vs Houston will be a primetime game this upcoming season
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : No. Kill QB. No worries. 😁
Mucky Tundra (3-Apr) : Diggs, Collins, Dell and Schultz is gonna be tough to cover
