Kind of a $%^&*) up mock draft thou ie they have orokpo going before curry and us not taking raji.

Well the Packers weren't at the Raji pro day according to the NFL network.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

There is enough tape on Raji already that I don't think not being at the pro day means anything. The Packers saw him at the Senior Bowl and saw him at the Combine. They probably talked to him by now as well.

As far as signing guys when teams trim down their rosters. GB will sign guys to fill the roster, but they need impact players. They needed to add a starter via free agency. Personally I think two.

IMO Ted Thompson has overate this roster. He believes Poppinga, Bishop, Hunter, or Thompson will get the job done opposite of Aaron Kampman or a draft pick will. He believes that Daryn Colledge or Breno will get the job done at RT.

I personally don't, but I have an open mind about it.

I'm really counting on a june cut gem that has experiance in the 3-4. whether its a rotation or starter as long as they can make this transition easier for our core players. i can see some serious head scratches over the next season or two until be get a true understanding.
We are born naked, wet and hungry. Then things get worse.

I also wonder how much of it is 'lets not get rid of guys that we dont know if they will work in this 3 - 4 before we make changes'. It'd be pretty stupid to can some guys who you haven't even seen in the scheme before knowing how they play in it at least on a practice level.

I don't know if that theory is being thought of or not. Considering the lack of FA's over the years, I highly doubt it.

I agree with that too. 3-4 is supposed to give us more linebackers which in turn improves special teams. If he's keeping all his current linebackers, there won't be much room to bring in another player. We will have exactly the same team as last season for special teams so where's the improvement there? That is food for thought.

Anyway i'm posting to ask when Carter is expected to be back from Hawaii? then we can finally invite him over. I think we're waiting for him hence the lack of FA activity lately.

TITANS TARGET GREEN BAY CORNER
Posted by Mike Florio on March 13, 2009, 8:57 p.m.

The Tennessee Titans have signed Packers cornerback Jarrett Bush to an offer sheet, according to Terry McCormick of the Nashville City Paper.

Bush, a restricted free agent, was tendered by Green Bay a one-year, $1.01 million contract. Because its the lowest level, and because Bush wasnt drafted, the Packers have only a right to match the offer sheet, and they will receive no compensation if the Packers opt not to do so.

The third-year player visited the Titans last week.

Btw...please dont overlook my previous post, i still would like that to be answered.

Okay lets do a little math here... keep in mind that the NFL roster limit is now 80 Players... not 85 or 87 that they once were.

We Currently have 66 players tendered or under contract.. With Bush signing an offer sheet that number may be reduced.

That leaves us 14 players between the draft and the UDFA we choose after that.. With 9 picks to sign we now have only 5 available slots.. that is five players without cutting anyone. This happens when you have little to no players coming due with expired contracts..

Offseason workouts are comming up, this will be the first interaction many players will have with new staff members.. so I am sure there is a little get aquainted time be asked for.

Players will come in and the coaches will get an idea of strength, conditioning, etc..

To me, unless there is a can't miss FA left in the pool, why rush to sign someone that in the end will require us to cut another inked player?

Add to it, we have no idea how the draft will shake out.. so right now, unless there is a knock out fit.. why rush? We took a swing at Canty.. it didn't happen.. Burnett wasn't coming here.. that happens.. But we waited the opening weekend.. and so be it.

We will have enough players to man the defensive front... there is plenty of time yet to land impact players that will help this team..

There aren't 66 good players on this team. I don't see the logic in not going for Vonnie Holiday for one example.

It sounds like your approach is let's wait and see as in something will get done. I hope you're right, but based on Thompson's track record nothing won't.

I fully expect the worse right now. I suspect Mark Tauscher will sign with the Minnesota Vikings because they'll offer quite a bit more money. I'm not high on either Clifton or Tauscher, but the alternative is probably Daryn Colledge and Breno.

Colin Cole's replacement will also probably be a rookie and so will Michael Montgomery's assuming isn't brought back. The Packers were built to be a 4-3 team and they'll end up playing several rookies next year on defense due to the move to the 3-4.

Dom Capers is going to have to get everything out of this defense in order for this team to improve.

I still have doubts in the running game's improvement. I like the backs, but not the offensive line.

Ted Thompson is going to have to have a heck of a draft this year.
