Well Wils I wasnt sure how it would work out but still would be nice lol. To be honest i have no clue on who we should take at #9, I'm thinking Raji would be best but who knows. We have alot of doubts right now on who can play LB and who can play DE. So why draft more players we are not sure on.

Moving back just got alot more interesting. Just saw a clip on NFL.com where Wyche pointed out that the Titans might go for Raji to replace Haynesworth now that he's a Redskin. Pure speculation, but still.

I think the Packers would be in a premier position for a trade here. Trade for a first this year, one next year and a second this year or something like that. We'd cash in bigtime, especially since I don't see the Titans repeating what they did last year.

Whew.. that's a pretty far jump back. I'd feel pretty leery about that. Pick #9 is valued at 1350. Their 1st and 2nd combined is 904, and I don't know if you could talk them into giving up their 1st next year too. That's a MONUMENTAL draft day trade. They'd have to really want someone at 9.

We had the small discussion about Crabtree falling to us but it could be a possibility. TJ is heading to seattle for a visit. If they sign him they will pass on Crabtree and go o-line
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I am going to say again what I have been saying since the season ended. If we can find a trade partner, a trade-back out of that 9 hole is what we should do. Looking at the talent pool available in the early third of the first round, contrasted with the latter portions and coupled with the depth through the third, especially as contrasted to the aforementioned talent pool, I am even more convinced that this would be the ideal scenario. Our switch/ quasi-switch to a 3-4 makes a two for one make even more sense. I still want linemen. Not DB's. Not WR's. Not TE's. NOT LINEBACKERS...we have potentially like 50 of those, listening to everyone on this board and elsewhere...so help me God, we get a linebacker, HE BETTER BE ALL THAT, plus a bag of chips AND a coke.

That was what I was going at. I mean, they have a void at DT now and Raji would be th player to fill that up with Haynesworth leaving... especially since they have a small window of oppertunity with Collins at QB.

I don't think that would be that weird of a scenario. It would mean though that we wouldn't get inmediate results and that will piss alot of people off, which is not something that Ted Thompson can use atm, I think.

GoPack...

Pay me little heed, my young friend. This is just my annual overcooked "lineman opinion".

It is but a counter-balance to all the skill-position advocates grinding the free agency and draft grist mill, especially exacerbated by the knowledge that 90% of the staff running the show for the Green Bay Pack[strike]oflineback[/strike]ers are former ones...

I usually calm down just before the draft.

As far as moving back. Did anyone expect Ted Thompson to walk up to a podium and yell out. Hey all, I want to trade back. If everybody knew that he was looking to move back the value would drop. Never tip your hand.

For the trade back with the Titans Idea. Not bad, that is a big move back, and I think the value is pretty close. When looking at getting picks the next year in trades, I believe the strategy is to move the pick down 1 round to find its value. So a 2nd next year would be worth the same as that pick in round 3 this year.
