I doubt it will be Moss.

Actually, we really can't do much waiting.

Free Agency is next month. The draft is in April. The staff needs to analyze what we have now, so we can properly be upgraded and ready for next season.

I think Moss being still on the coaching staff is more a favor than anything else.. not to mention that we are trying to probably recapture some of the money in his contract.

Think about this.. if reports are true about the defensive staff splintered and infighting.. do you really want to keep one of the main components of the issues intact?

Whether he was correct in his stance or opinion, contributing to tearing down the unison is not a endearing trait as part of a coaching staff.

Listen to the Moss quotes coming out of Oakland's press, they sound if they are coming from a guy needing a job badly. I think that is a solid sign that Moss is on his way out.

As a former player, having a chance to come up and lead a football team as a head coach or in whatever capacity Mr. Davis feels would help the team, Id be interested.

As far as Patience.. I think there is reasons to wrap this up quickly, that being tied to scouting free agents and draft picks to fit within the new system being brought in.. but this is Mike McCarthy and Ted's MO... patient and sometimes even plodding in their decision making processes..

More often than not, being patient is a quality practice.. however at times you need to pull the trigger quickly if the right player or coach presents themselves.. to this point, we haven't seen the ability or desire for either to move rapidly.

We can only watch to see how this plays out..

I wonder if this was part of the reason that Moss was kept around. The defensive presence for FA and draft workups.

haha im not even 100% sure Mike McCarthy is still the head coach from the silence so i dont know how you know its going to be McDermott.

just kidding though... i actually feel pretty confident its McDermott as well. I just think he would fit in best in the current organization. Bringing in Williams or Nolan might have upset the balance of power. Both guys have been head coaches, and with that comes the head coach ego. Not that I know for a fact that would happen... I would just think that an up and coming coach who has yet to drink from the river of head coaching power would be better, than a coach who might even accidently over step his boundary ever once in a while.
