Well to be honest with Ryan i would love to give him a chance. You can laugh all you want but look what Singletary has done in SF. He showed who was boss he took a #5 draft pick and sent his ass to the locker room. Ok ya he also dropped his pants in the locker room, but honestly i think thats what this team needs is a coach that won't put up with the bs. You produce or your benched i don't care who you are attitude.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I won't argue that he could be good. He might be awesome. But that's a hunch, and nothing more. So again I'm saying that if you fire McCarthy to hire Ryan then you aren't doing it for football reasons - you're simply scapegoating McCarthy to satisfy the bloodlust of the kinds of fans who want everyone fired after any disappointment.

And I'm not even saying that isn't valid. But I don't see a lot in the way of evidence to suggest that sort of strategy results in long-term winning teams. If we do that and the team still underperforms, do we then just fire Ryan and take a flyer on another unproven HC?

If McCarthy gets the blame for this season, then he should get credit for last season. That gives him one 8-8 season, a superb 13-3 season and this disappointing season. I just don't see firing him and going with an unknown until we see what he can do next season.

But that's just me, and your points are totally valid.

Well we did take a chance on an unknown 3 years ago, and it hasn't worked out for the best. I don't know if it was just me but Mike McCarthy seemed like he was lost all year long on the sidelines. Remember the movie Waterboy when (the Fonz) the headcoach was afraid of the other head coach and he went and hid on the bench that kinda reminds me of Mike McCarthy this year. There was no fire or anything at all from MM. I don't know if he thought he was getting a free pass because he could always blame the offseason circus.

Oh, I agree he's had a subpar year. But again, if we blame this year on him then we have to give him credit for last year's 13-3 record and the team's resurgence in the last part of 2006, right? In that case he's only had the one bad season, so why not give him another year to see what we've really got? And if taking a chance on McCarthy was a mistake, does it make sense to take a chance on a guy with no HC experience yet again?

I've already been on record that I'm not saying he should get a lifetime pass -- one year to prove that he's the coach we saw in 2007, that's all I'm saying. You have to admit, this was one seriously weird year.

Rod Marinelli...

Well not, I'm actually willing to give Mike McCarthy another year, but Marty Schottenheimer does sound interesting. Steve Spagnola would be awesome too.

Another name I'd throw out there - Jim Johnson, defensive coordinator of the Eagles. 67 years old though.

One other name - Jim Schwartz, the Titans' defensive coordinator. What can I say, I like good defenses!

Ok anyone else see we are all thinking on the same page. Alot of these names are of DCs and not to many offensive minded coaches. I was hoping the eagles would fail in getting into the playoffs because they would dismantle that team and we might be able to get Johnson as a dc but like everything else this year it didn't go our way.

M.M. is a good coach.

Packers are going to win the Super Bowl next year.

I am not joking.... I am extremely Fucking Serious.

Wow, I do like the idea of Schotenheimer...had a 14-2 season a few years back, and then gets the boot. I don't understand that. Don't we have someone named Kurt Schotenheimer on our coaching staff? I forget what he does exactly, but back to my point, I'm sure he's related to him. He could possibly drift him this way.

beast (27-Mar) : You saw only 4,201 of my mocks? 🥺 I think that means you missed more than half of them 😢
dfosterf (27-Mar) : Does anyone know what Lambeau field improvements got put on hold? My guess would be for the 2025 draft
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : It's like listen, you made 4,201 mocks, no shit.
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : Cuz during the draft "I had them mocked there!" as if it's amazing.
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : They're fun to do once in awhile. It's people who think they are "content" that annoy me.
dfosterf (27-Mar) : Against tbd
dfosterf (27-Mar) : Answer to your question is yes, it's a Thursday, will be the Chiefs aga

dfosterf (27-Mar) : In my city, they are playing the nimby game, in order to keep some railroad tracks vs. 2 professional sports teams and a concert venue.
dfosterf (27-Mar) : And/Or a city council, of which I haven't seen a good one in a very long time
dfosterf (27-Mar) : That sounds like a Mayor, not a city.

Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Shouldn't be penalized cuz official screwed up
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Yeah, challenge until you are incorrect twice.
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Fining them is the goal, per the people who made the rule anyway.
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still waiting on the kickoff rule changes. Did hear yesterday that the touchback proposal will now be the 30 yard line, not the 35
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Probably speed of game issues with your proposal
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Hopefully the refs don't get in the habit of throwing flags on this
beast (25-Mar) : I think when it comes to Challenges should get two strikes, so unlimited challenges as long as they keep winning them, but 2 wrong then done
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still subject to the fines etc
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Yes, I should have been more specific. Also, they are now saying it would be a 15 yard penalty. That makes more sense .
