Like others have been saying. The salary cap makes this deal impractical. The Packers would have to make cuts at other positions to be able to afford him.

"But Bigbyfan, JJ Watt is one of the best players in the league and would be worth it. Ted Thomason is just being his typical cheap self!!!"

Yes he is great. Please tell me how much Watt is helping the Texans win right now. Please tell me how he has made that defense into a force.... it's okay, I'll wait.

I don't think there was any purpose to that article other than to generate website hits. Teams just don't trade the face of the franchise. And picks in the 30's aren't even considered first round picks to a team like the Texans.

The article was trades a certain someone would like to see. I'm not sure why folks always gotta get all sensitive and run the "it'll never happen" gambit. Seriously, lighten up and toss it around. Have some fun, jeepers.

If the Packers were to trade for J.J. Watt I would prefer them trade Clay Matthews III straight up. Watt is about three years younger, by all accounts has two healthy hamstrings and has started every game of his career. The salary cap should nearly be a wash, although I'm just guessing on that. And I still believe that a dominate DL will improve the LB which will improve the Secondary.

I would also throw in Scott Tolzien to give Texans a more legitimate player at Quarterback.

We proved last year we don't need him.

We just need to stop shitting ourselves, at some point.

love to see him as a packer, however we all know ted would never give up draft choices, and for good reason, look at all the picks that are starters here !!

Every year NFL media talks up these big name trade deadline deals and every year neither the Packers or any other team makes any deals.

I'd trade a first round pick for Joe Thomas in a second. I would then put him on a plane and have him play tonight

beast (5-Apr) : Probably not going to let Diggs walk away unless he's horrible... but according to reports he also might not be as good as he used to be.
beast (5-Apr) : The 25th pick in the draft has been an offensive player since 2017, 2 TE, 2 WR, 1 RB, 1 OC
Mucky Tundra (5-Apr) : Odd, why give up a 2025 2nd Rounder for him if you're just gonna let him walk?
Zero2Cool (4-Apr) : Texans to let Diggs be free agent in '25
buckeyepackfan (4-Apr) : 49r's aign RB Patrick Taylor.
Martha Careful (4-Apr) : Reversion to the mean would indicate we will keep it
Zero2Cool (4-Apr) : It's also been utilized in a trade in 14 of the past 20 years
Zero2Cool (4-Apr) : The 25th pick in the draft hasn't been made by it's original holder since 2016.
Mucky Tundra (4-Apr) : Gotta imagine that Green Bay vs Houston will be a primetime game this upcoming season
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : No. Kill QB. No worries. 😁
Mucky Tundra (3-Apr) : Diggs, Collins, Dell and Schultz is gonna be tough to cover
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Stefon Diggs' trade will not be processed as a post-June 1 designation, so that is just over $31 million in dead cap this year.
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Bills trading WR Stefon Diggs to the Texans in exchange for a 2025 2nd-round pick. (via @rapsheet)
