I say pay Jennings but hold off on Rodgers. Ya Ya i know i'm a Rodgers basher i don't deny it but i'm not a person that belives one decent season should bring in a huge contract, heck it's only a 1/2 season and some people are saying throw the bank at him. Jennings on the other hand has proven that he will be a top notch wr.

I think it will happen, though. iirc the word was that as long as he had a good season and didn't go on IR or something, he would get an extension at the end of the season.

Yeah, lets wait until we have no bargaining leverage. He's already sitting on 98% quarterback rating.

Give the money this year to Collins, Kampman and Rogers, and maybe Tauscher. Jennings can wait and if need be franchised. I have no problem paying him top five WR money, because thats what he is.

Of course you would pay Rodgers the huge money. Why not make him play out his contract and if he is that good franchise him. He has played in 7 games and you want to throw the bank at him. and who cares about qb rating gimmie wins over any qb rating. Heres some examples : Eli Manning 88.9, Big Ben 85.7, heck matt cassell 84.6 but they all have better won-loss then we do. Hell look at who is leading the league Rivers 107.8 and his record this year is 3-5 so like i said who cares about qb rating.

Phillip Rivers is playing some pretty damn good and consistent football. No one can deny that.

QB ratings are at least a part of the consideration of how well a QB is playing. Football is a team sport. A really good quarterback can't win every game by themselves. Sometimes they need a little help from the rest of the team. Go figure.

I do hope we use some of this money before Monday. Collins would be a good bet, and perhaps Bigby or Tramon Williams.

Well, there are a lot of layers to issues like this especially with quarterbacks so discussions could go on forever. Personally though I, and I think people in the front offices, want to see Aaron Rodgers come back from staring into the eyes of defeat when a momentum shift has swung the other way and things look bleak. That is the mark of a true winner at the position.

Now of course Rodgers cannot compensate completely if, for example, pass rushers are coming in at all angles (nor could Tom Brady), but to see him come back and win a tough game without making a last minute mistake fueled by desperation, would be something to give any person who controls where the money goes that last real measure of confidence. That, and of course, staying healthy to be "available" for games.

sorry folks didn't mean to get this off topic remember this is about Jennings contract and i say we should lock him up for maybe 5 years.

i think you guys might be misunderstanding Mr. Jennings motives here. this is 100% about bargaining power and has nothing to do with distracting the team. he's going to kill it this year so when it comes to contract talks, the Packers will be on the wrong end of an uncomfortable position.

"like the backseat of Honda?"

name that movie! ๐Ÿ˜‰
