Anyone been following the Senior Bowl?

I wanted to compile a list of players worth checking out if you’re following the game tomorrow or just interested in the draft.

If the Packers let Cobb go in free agency (a dumb move, in my opinion), they could look at Kansas State's Tyler Lockett and Duke’s Jamison Crowder as a replacement. Both are ideal slot receivers, while Davante Adams is more of a split end or flanker. I also like Ty Montgomery, but he’s had an up and down week. I have to do a little more homework on his 2014 season. Most of my notes on him are from 2013, where I thought he was a first-round caliber talent.

Grady Jarrett doesn’t have exceptional size, but the Packers seem to like undersized defensive tackles that can rush up field. He certainly does that. He’s quick-footed, and explodes off the ball. He'd be an option in their sub packages.

In the perfect world, Ted Thompson would trade up to select Washington’s Danny Shelton. He’s just a beast. A legit top 10 talent. Think Dontari Poe or even Haloti Ngata. I have more on him in the links below.

If Bryan Bulaga leaves, that puts the Packers in the market for a right tackle. I’m not sure T.J. Cummings is on the board when they pick, but La’el Collins would be. He’d bring a lot of power to the offensive line.

Clive Walford could be really good in Mike McCarthy’s offense. Why not double up on a pair of tight ends? More on him in the links below.

The guy I think would interest us the most is Stephone Anthony. He can play inside in a 34 or 43. He moves really well. We’re talking about a sideline to sideline inside linebacker. I think he’s the perfect compliment to Sam Barrington if the Packers intend to stay with him inside. Anthony also holds up real well in coverage. He’s a three-down, fast, big-hitting linebacker. It'd be great to get him in the second round.

The Packers like to draft Iowa guys. Maybe watch out for Carl Davis. He’s a bigger version of Jarrett. He gets up field and uses his hands to disengage from blockers well. He’s reportedly had a good week.

I think that’s a pretty good rundown of what caught my eye from a Packers perspective.

Here is one to my Senior Bowl Stock Down Article: http://www.row12.com/article/2820/2015_Senior_Bowl_Stock_Down/

I’m thinking front seven help for the draft. I’d like to see a nose guard and inside linebackers. Maybe even a cornerback.

Let me know which positions you're looking to see addressed.

Porky, what do you think of Jordan Phillips and Blake Bell, both from Oklahoma? I've seen some fan mocks with Phillips going to GB and Bell intrigues me because of his late conversion.

Also, any receivers that would be around on Day 3 worth going after?

Bell is a major project, but his size and athleticism make him intriguing. We’re talking about a 6-6 guy that’ll run a sub 4.7. He was a great athlete in college, and highly touted as a recruit. Need to see more of him at tight end, though.

Phillips has back issues that will need to checkout. I thought he was inconsistent. Would’ve liked to have seen him stay in school and put together a complete season. Plays too high. Not much of a pass rusher. He’s a really good run defender, though, so that’s what puts him on Green Bay’s radar. Because of his size, he won't fall to GB unless there's major concern about his back. If that happens, then I’m not sure I’d want to see the Pack take another chance on a defensive lineman with back issues.

dhazer (16h) : Steelers sign Patterson because of new kickoff rule interesting
Zero2Cool (19h) : Former #Packers TE Josiah Deguara is signing a 1-year deal with the Jaguars, per source.
Zero2Cool (20h) : They do not do it for "content sake".
dfosterf (28-Mar) : For the record, I enjoy Beast and Mucky drafts
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : Haha
Mucky Tundra (27-Mar) : No time for talking! Back to work beast!
beast (27-Mar) : You saw only 4,201 of my mocks? 🥺 I think that means you missed more than half of them 😢
dfosterf (27-Mar) : Does anyone know what Lambeau field improvements got put on hold? My guess would be for the 2025 draft
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : It's like listen, you made 4,201 mocks, no shit.
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : Cuz during the draft "I had them mocked there!" as if it's amazing.
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : They're fun to do once in awhile. It's people who think they are "content" that annoy me.
dfosterf (27-Mar) : Against tbd
dfosterf (27-Mar) : Answer to your question is yes, it's a Thursday, will be the Chiefs aga
dfosterf (27-Mar) : Luckily for all concerned, I don't post them. I did one, but that was like 25 mocks ago
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : NFL 2024 gonna start Sept 5th isn't it???
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : Ugh... kids these days!
dfosterf (27-Mar) : I'm gonna go do some more mock draft hell instead 🤪
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : Did we do one of those prediction threads yet for 2024 season?
dfosterf (27-Mar) : In my city, they are playing the nimby game, in order to keep some railroad tracks vs. 2 professional sports teams and a concert venue.
dfosterf (27-Mar) : And/Or a city council, of which I haven't seen a good one in a very long time
dfosterf (27-Mar) : That sounds like a Mayor, not a city.
buckeyepackfan (26-Mar) : Packers halt scheduled 80mil upgrade of stadium until lease agreement talks are restarted
Zero2Cool (26-Mar) : City of Green Bay puts Packers' Lambeau Field lease talks on hold
buckeyepackfan (26-Mar) : Packers 1 of 3 teams to vote no on new kickoff rule.
Zero2Cool (26-Mar) : Packers sign another Kicker

Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Gutekunst said early stages of Jordan Love contract being discussed.
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Shouldn't be penalized cuz official screwed up
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Yeah, challenge until you are incorrect twice.
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Fining them is the goal, per the people who made the rule anyway.
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still waiting on the kickoff rule changes. Did hear yesterday that the touchback proposal will now be the 30 yard line, not the 35
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Probably speed of game issues with your proposal
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Hopefully the refs don't get in the habit of throwing flags on this
beast (25-Mar) : I think when it comes to Challenges should get two strikes, so unlimited challenges as long as they keep winning them, but 2 wrong then done
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still subject to the fines etc
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Yes, I should have been more specific. Also, they are now saying it would be a 15 yard penalty. That makes more sense .
