Exactly. People can make excuses all they want for Clay and say "it was just a broken thumb, it was just his hamstring" etc., but that really doesn't matter to me, and shouldn't really matter to the coaches. Availability is what should matter, and the reality is that he hasn't been available enough the past two seasons. As you mention, that can easily change this season. My main point is that I don't have a lot of confidence that he actually will. It's not an unrealistic prediction to expect him to miss 6+ games again this season. To me, that seems more realistic than saying he will not. One year (actually more), it's a hamstring, last year it's a thumb. What will it be this year? A bicep? All that ultimately matters to the Packers is whether or not Clay is on the field as much as possible and that he is producing. I realize that's a tough black and white approach, but team's need to have their superstar players available. I just wish I had more confidence that Clay would be healthy for the majority of the season. I hope the coaching staff isn't hedging any bets on it though, and it doesn't seem like they are, thankfully.

It's not Clay's fault Matthew Stafford's pudgy ass fell on his fixed thumb in week 13... 😄

Then again, if he wasn't GETTING to the QB it probably wouldn't have happened.

And if he wouldn't have rushed to come back from the injury too soon, he wouldn't have re-injured it. I'm not getting down on Clay for that.
