I figured Martin would be cut. While everyone raves about what a good blocker he is, the fact is he's hardly ever on the field, and his numbers the past three years have been paltry. I am confident that Jermichael Finley in the TE position can contribute more yardage -- and possibly more touchdowns -- in a season than Martin gave us in two.

I'm still a little puzzled by the fact that we're keeping 3 FBs. Mike McCarthy has said his primary focus is on running the ball and playing defense, so apparently he's putting his money where his mouth is. He is also apparently determined to ensure that Rodgers has more protection than he got last year, when he spent half the season running for his life.

Either that, or perhaps Ted Thompson is trying to increase the trade value of his FBs by signing them all to the final roster.

Have Hall in on 3rd down and other passing downs. Quinn comes in on most running downs or where the FB doesn't have to play receiver and Kuhn and Johnson make for an amazing full house duo with Grant in the backfield with them.

Can't think of any other reason. Kuhn really looked like the odd man out for me, but I guess he hung on. Maybe it's his little added value as being the 3rd & 1 and 4th & 1 runner.

Jarrett Bush is currently our #3 Safety with Rouse injured (and unlikely to be ready to go full speed by opening game).

New guy Martin is apparently more of a CB.

The Meredith move worries me. That means we really have nobody on the team right now who is preparing to replace Clifton at LT.

I don't like seeing Anthony Smith go.

I wonder what Rodgers thinks of dropping Martin. They were friends, I hear.

Hope he does. And I know they're professionals, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be a good quote.

I don't think any 3rd string player or his friends (in this case Rodgers) can be surprised if/when he is cut. It would be different if Aaron was as close to Jones and he was cut. Well traded. He is too good to be released out right.

dfosterf (36m) : The only problem with that is he isn't a guard either.
dfosterf (1h) : Put him at right guard. That is where he will be coached. That is where he will compete. He is not even allowed to look at the LT playbook.
dfosterf (16h) : Kidding aside, I hope the best for him.

beast (5-Apr) : Probably not going to let Diggs walk away unless he's horrible... but according to reports he also might not be as good as he used to be.
beast (5-Apr) : The 25th pick in the draft has been an offensive player since 2017, 2 TE, 2 WR, 1 RB, 1 OC
Mucky Tundra (5-Apr) : Odd, why give up a 2025 2nd Rounder for him if you're just gonna let him walk?

Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : No. Kill QB. No worries. 😁
Mucky Tundra (3-Apr) : Diggs, Collins, Dell and Schultz is gonna be tough to cover
