He will be back IMO.. an incentive laden 2 year deal.. just a guess.

More and other notes...

"There's been some communication," Tauscher said during his weekly appearance with Steve "The Homer" True on WTLX (100.5 FM). "We're trying to get some stuff figured out. We'll see how it all plays out."

Figuring out Tauscher's market value will be a challenge. He likely would have priced himself out of Green Bay had he not been injured.

"My rehab's gone great," said Tauscher, who also tore his left ACL in 2002. "The process is just so much easier this time than it was the last time. The pain isn't anywhere to the same level as I had to deal with last time, and my progress has been way off the charts."

I would like to think he will be back, but I have a feeling that he is going to want more than the Packers are willing to pay for an injured player who, if we are honest, has shown a little decline recently.

Still a good, productive player for a couple years, in my opinion, but at what price?

No matter how it shakes out, the OL battles in camp should be very interesting....and I look for Sitton to bring the nasty dimension to that unit that has been a little lacking of late.

I suppose if they resign Tauscher, I'll have to get on board with the draft Raji crowd. I want Tauscher back and I don't even mind if they overpay if it keeps him from wearing purple. Besides, he's provided quality play on the cheap for a lot of years now.

(Tauscher) is going to be more of a medical decision than it is a football decision. Marks a really good football player, and wed hope hell be with us going forward, but thats going to be a medical thing. Were a long way away from being able to make a decision.

I don't understand how they could be having contract talks when Ted Thompson comes out with a statement like that. Someone is blowing smoke up someone's nether regions, imo.

Tauscher is postering for a contract with us or anyone else. Will he be able to pass a physical right now? That's where this conversation begins and ends.

Taauscher is more valuable to the Packers than any other team.

To me, Ted's statement seems to be an explanation of a low offer.
He can praise Tauscher's play and at the same time not offer much.

No one on the team now has the same ability at that position.

It is such a natural fit that only foolishness would screw it up.

IMO Tauscher is the one player on the team, that will take less to stay. To me any talks at this point are to find out where they are at.

Signing the actual contract is dependent on his recovery and medical evaluations. But the team needs to know, so they can bankroll that money.

Thompson is lying because he wants Tauscher off the radar.
