Montgomery was explosive. Losing him hurt.

But these WR are no different than when we were 6-0. Rodgers is different, that is all.

Aaron Rodgers is held to a high standard and is expected to make the incredible plays to win games. That's fair. He should be. But the rest of the Packers offense has to be held to the same standard. They need to make some great plays, tough clutch catches, consistently getting open in tight spaces, etc., when given the opportunity. There hasn't been enough of that lately.

Offensive and coaching problem. Not an Aaron Rodgers problem, not a Davante Adams problem. An offensive problem and ultimately a TEAM problem, because this defense will fold against the good playoff QBs it would have to beat to win the Super Bowl. Ultimately, I don't think it matters much at all because even if the offense starts playing better, it still won't be good enough to win the Super Bowl along with Dom Capers defense.

BULLSHIT.

How's Cobb looked the past two months? But Aaron's not gonna put the blame on him, because he has veteran standing.

This is on Aaron. These WR didn't all start to suddenly play like shit in week 8. Aaron did.

Plus, how many drops have Cobb and Adams had?
I can answer that....WAY too many!
That's not RODGERS fault.
Our offense has been lousy.
Then Lacy fumbles, and Mike McCarthy pulls him out to "punish" him. But who did it punish???
THE TEAM!

It's silly to want Rodgers to run more; The reason for the success is that it wasn't forced. Take off and run when it isn't absolutely obvious, and it won't work as well, plus the risk of injury. I'd like to have him get more protection - the O-Line IMO is still the primary culprit in any and all problems.

The title topic of the thread is Davante Adams. I've never been all that fired up about him. When we had both Nelson and Cobb, Adams was marginally decent as a possession receiver, but the guy just can't get open. ANY other team in the NFL would be making use of Janis by now, who is twice the athlete Adams is. If he is still lacking in understanding of pass routes or whatever, then for crying out loud, do some coaching and teach him! Somebody said Montgomery is explosive? Janis is a helluva lot more explosive. I absolutely HATED it that we cut that UDFA (I can't even remember his name - big, fast, explosive, but a little bit raw). Other teams by half way through the first season take guys like that or Janis and play them effectively.

I'm coming around to the point of view that play calling is faulty. I don't, however, think it would do any good to go back to McCarthy, as he and Clement are likeminded.

Collingsworth alluded to something I was already thinking: that Denver exposed something - man coverage and a four man pass rush that doesn't allow Rodgers to get outside. Our O-Line is so bad that just a base four man rush is in on him so quick that what used to work doesn't - that and no Nelson/no deep threat.

Bad as the recent weeks have been, everything is still in reach, and we still should win it all.
