RC was a hell of a football coach... if Shawn picked anything up in his fathers way of thinking and work ethic.. then I feel good about the hire.. I would have played for RC in his day..

Slocum coached special teams and tight ends at Texas A&M under his father, R.C. Slocum, from 1991-'97. He went to USC to coach special teams and inside linebackers under Hackett from 1998-'99, then returned to A&M from 2000-'02 to coach special teams and defensive backs under his dad.

Slocum is young and energetic.
He has a fine coaching pedigree and I don't think he will be negatively influenced by his 3 years under Stock.
We will just have to see where this new chapter takes us.

Evertyime I see his name, I'm reminded of Mrs. Slocombe. (Are you being served, you know?)

Anyway, if he has picked up the good things from his father and the good things from Stock, he'll be one hell of a coach who, I'm afraid, will be gone again pretty soon.

Only time will tell, I guess.
