That's true, and to be honest, we've played three strong running teams, so the data might be a little skewed against us.

That said, we all saw it coming when they announced the "smaller quicker" Dlinemen scheme. But we shall see. They could still pull it together.

Does anyone know how Pickett graded out on the snaps he played for the Texans last week?

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this paragraph, and especially the last sentence, from a scathing condemnation of Dom Capers and a little bit of Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy from Packerupdate.net:

Mike McCarthy spent the offseason overseeing a dramatic change in defensive philosophy. I applaud the head coach for trying something new, but trying something new with someone old makes no sense. Capers was brought to Green Bay to run the 3-4, a defense he helped develop in the 90s. Once McCarthy decided to move away from that scheme, he needed to move away from Capers. But he didn’t. And because of his misguided loyalty, the Packers are likely headed for another early exit from the playoffs – if they even get there.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

And I am not really ok with #32. But if at year end we were #20 Run D and Top 7 Pass D, I would think it's been a decent year. Unless Aaron Rodgers gets hurt.

I'm not concerned with our pass D--the pass rush is way improved this year, and our CBs/Ss are making plays.

The thing I didn't like about the scheme against the Bears is the LBs frequently were lined up 7 yds off the line of scrimmage. By the time they were getting to the vicinity of the ball carriers, the RBs were already on our side of the line of scrimmage. Our LBs would get blocked and a S/CB would have to take down the RB, resulting in 10 yd gains.

We were better at stopping the run in the Red Zone, and I think it was in part because our LBs were lined up closer to the line of scrimmage (5 yds deep) as the side of the field we were defending got compressed.

Is it just me or is McCarthy calling out a lot more players this year?

Mucky Tundra (3-Apr) : Diggs, Collins, Dell and Schultz is gonna be tough to cover
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Stefon Diggs' trade will not be processed as a post-June 1 designation, so that is just over $31 million in dead cap this year.
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Bills trading WR Stefon Diggs to the Texans in exchange for a 2025 2nd-round pick. (via @rapsheet)
