Perhaps interesting to only me ...

From Packers.com

"About this time (1935), a rather slight, lanky end by the name of Don Hutson came to the club. He actually signed two contracts, with Green Bay and the Brooklyn Dodgers. But commissioner Joe Carr awarded Hutson to the Packers, because Green Bay's postmark was earlier."

Since Brooklyn is in the Eastern time zone and Green Bay is in the Central time zone, that would have actually made the Brooklyn postmark 43 minutes earlier than Green Bay's...oops... Whistle

Yeah I have seen that before. It is interesting. Also in the olden days in small towns what was to keep the Post Master from changing the time or the date on his cancellation stamp? I could see Curly stewing over if he got his letter in the mail soon enough and getting someone to "assist" him in the process.
