OFFENSE For the first time since week one of this season, Aaron Rodgers was held under 200 yards passing while completing a modest 25 passes for a solid 69.4% completion percentage. He did continue his streak of throwing at least one touchdown in a game with a one yard pass to Spencer Havner and also racked up another score with his feet. Speaking of his feet, Rodgers kept a drive alive on 3rd and 5 showing no fear and a tad of athleticism on an 11 yard run to move the chains. In my review of the game, I seen very few passes that were in the air for 20 or more yards. Drastic change from what we're used to seeing. Head Coach Mike McCarthy stated he gave Rodgers a heavy dose of responsibility on his plate for this game. I reckon, he continues to do so. Rodgers will only get better. Two of the most impressive throws I've seen in weeks came on the same drive. One was 3rd and 11 to Greg Jennings for 14 yards and the other was soap on a silk rope to Donald Lee for 17 yards when it was 3rd and 13. Rodgers wasn't...

OFFENSE Aaron Rodgers threw 35 times completing 17 of them for a paltry sub 50% completion percentage. He amassed 266 yards passing. Rodgers two worst games as a NFL starter have come against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He absorbed six sacks while running for a score and throwing 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. On five of the six sacks Rodgers had 4 seconds or more time in the pocket. Three of those sacks he had an open guy or opportunity to throw it away. You can say four if you want to count another one, but it would have been ballsy to throw it away while being dragged down in the red zone. Rodgers even had one play where he had 8 seconds, EIGHT seconds to make a play and threw a bad pass. Rodgers was throwing off balance a considerable amount Sunday. On each poorly thrown pass that I reviewed he had his center lean on right leg instead of following through his throw. This is something that happens when you don't follow through on a pass. The sacks are effecting his mechanics. Plain and simple. Earlier...

OFFENSE Luckily for the Browns Aaron Rodgers only threw 20 times, completing 75% of them. I say luckily because he averaged one touchdown per five completions.  The one that impressed me the most was his quick release to Donald Driver who was in the slot and tore down the field for 71 yards. I think this was the most impressive of the three touchdown throws because it appears Rodgers checked out of a play and into a quick release to his hot read, Driver.  Another bonus for Rodgers, he didn’t get sacked the whole game! (Write that down on your calendar, it might not happen again this year).  Did you know Rodgers QB rating of 155.4 was the highest in over 20 years for any Packers QB?

Did you happen to catch Mike McCarthy’s comments on the running game? “I think the first thing for Ryan was two weeks in a row we were able to get him up over 20-plus attempts. That helps any running back, just the ability to get into a rhythm …” said McCarthy.  Boy I wish I could say I told you so like I was a genius. However,...

OFFENSE The more I review Aaron Rodgers, the more I admire him for his talents. Rodgers threw for over 300 yards (2nd of the season, 6th career) while being harrassed by a litter of kittens who luckily sacked him five times . Two were against 7-man rushes. He stepped into the sack twice, once against a 4-man and another against 5-man rush. I'm not faulting him for it because he had no clue what his tackles were giving up on the outter pocket. He did hold the ball a bit longer than I'd like, wait, what am I saying? The two times he did, he made great plays with this ability to keep the play alive. Early in the game on 3rd and 6 the felines provided Rodgers with a free play. Rodgers made them pay by hitting James Jones who made an impressive cut that reminded me of his 79 yard TD against the Broncos back in '07. It was a smart play by Rodgers and great display of determination by Jones. One of Rodgers most impressive plays came on a 2nd and 14 play in the 3rd quarter where Chad Clifton felt Rodgers needed...

The NFL TV schedulers who gave the Packers 3 prime time games this coming season have breathed a sigh of relief after Brett Favre has officially made it known he will play this year for the Green Bay Packers.

What does this mean? Set aside the obvious, it means Javon Walker will remain a Packer, it increases the likelihood that Charles Woodson will sign with the Packers and Vernon Davis if available when the Packers are on the clock will be their selection.

Let’s hypothetically say Tiger Woods purchases an Arena Football team with monetary proceedings going directly to the Tiger Woods Foundation. Every year before the season starts he holds a news conference stating his appreciation for the support of the team and his foundation. Would you expect Tiger Woods to announce his career status with the PGA at this news conference? Not a chance. So why would we believe Brett Favre (who has played football his entire life has football is in his blood and is a loyally fierce competitor) announce his career status with the NFL during a news conference for his charity golf tournament were his family was not scheduled to be present?

Combined with the immense desire to know his future with journalists who don’t firmly believe in objective writings; you would believe it. Why? Because you trust the writer to give you an objective perception of their content. Unfortunately that is what happened with this news conference turned ‘breaking news’ type hype. Deanna Favre’s assistant (I feel was trying to get some pub of her own) said a few comments to reporter/s who took the story and ran with it.

One of my earliest memories of being a Packer Fan was in the late eighties. It was a game against the Vikings. The Packers had second and goal, maybe third and goal. The RB (Brent Fullwood or Keith Woodside) took the handoff towards the outside of the tackle and did a shake n bake check your jock cuz its on the turf move and my dad dropped his beer and with a soft eerie’ish voice said ‘holy shit……….son a green bay packer juked’.  I never fully understood my dad’s frustration that pushed him to be impressed with a juke move until this 4 – 12 season. This season was frustrating, but I enjoyed watching the Packers and learning what fans were true fans and which ones were there for the ride.

This season was not what most Packers Fan’s expected. Yes, some of us feared it and others will boast ‘I told you we wouldn’t win more than five games’ but does being right about the Packers poor season ease the pain?

I’m not gonna focus on just one aspect in this article, but instead I’m gonna hop around like a writer on ADD.
